Miliband NOT answering the referendum question

I don't think Ed's got a sensible answer as to why he's all in favour of democracy for the working man unless there's a risk that he won't get the answer he wants on the EU.

I suppose we should be glad he's so concerned about immigration now. Odd that he wasn't overly worried about letting in all those low skilled workers and sorting out their benefit entitlement when he was in government though...

Yep. he said he's going to make jobless EU migrants wait two years before claiming benefits.

that's a sure enough reason to vote Labour.
I can see him winning like you can too.

Labour have already said they won't have a referendum on the EU if they win in May. That's a policy (or lack of it) that we'll all know about before the election and people can take into account when they vote.

The best chance people have of a referendum on the EU is to vote for the Conservatives.

Apart from UKIP, I would vote for any party that guaranteed a referendum on coming out of the EU.

Along with every one else (including Nigel 'man of the people' Farage). However he is the only one with a realistic chance of power who is offering one. Labour, the SNP and the Liberal Democrats are all not offering one as far as I can recall and they're the other parties that look to be able to win enough seats to wield some degree of power.

There's no one out there to vote for, they're all unworthy.

Did Labour not offer the prospect of an "in / out" referendum in circumstances where they were in power and any more powers were devolved to Europe?

EDIT

It seems they may have done.

Re: Miliband NOT answering the referendum question

For me the EU certainly isn't the only factor in deciding who to vote for but for those who feel it is the overriding issue, the only way to get an EU referendum is to vote Tory where they can win and UKIP elsewhere. If Cameron fails to deliver on his promise it'll be political suicide for his party and whilst he might accept another 5 years at number 10 as his reward, I don't think many of his MPs will relish the electoral wilderness that will follow.

I recall that half hearted token, I have not heard anything about it since though. It appears to be about as firm as a limp handshake.
