Lollipop Released for the Galaxy S5

Virgin have now released the Lollipop software 5.0 update to their Android phones. It's 2 updates actually as I recieved a second update after installing the initial update to my Samsung Galaxy S5.

Motorola has been promising Lollipop to its users with Motorolla Devices in the UK since December. Now they have stated they are still trialling it in India. Glad to see Virgin is on the ball tho.

Hopefully not long until the Xperia sets get it, as have tried several launchers and none of them work for long.

LG released the G3 Lollipop update back in December.

It will have been the S5 only as it just got released last week. My bro on Vodafone got it on Monday.

I'm quite glad that neither Sony or Motorola have released Android 5x yet. It's still full of bugs... as I have one of each.

5.02 is current, 5.1 (next one) is supposed to be the one to get. I wouldn't be surprised if the reason why some manufacturers are holding out is for this one.

Absolutely no point in racing for your update only to find it's worse than the old version

Android 5.1 Lollipop is expected to be a rather large update, returning the silent mode missing from Android 5.0, improving system stability, RAM management and battery management, and fixing sudden app closures, Wi-Fi problems and sound problems.

Too true, it's bizarre VM should release an update to phones that will render their own TV Anywhere App useless. Different departments I expect, maybe they should have a team meeting sometime.....

I won't be updating.

Hardly use the Anywhere app to be honest. So that wouldn't be a loss to me, but if apps like Arriva m-ticket and the Nat West apps stop working then I will be cross.

Virgin do have firmware approval where they have specific phone variants though.

Yes they do, and they slap their own CSC on it as well. But it's still Samsung that makes the firmware and does the releasing.
