BT G.fast nationwide deployment in 2016-7 - pilots in Huntingdon & Gosforth
Link.
Going to take a long time to roll out though, as it's a ton more involved than the FTTC roll-out, but this may explain VM's turning the speed dial up this year. Competition is good for those who can get both, and not so bad for those with just a single option! :) Quote:

Apologies if this sounds a stupid question but how does this announcement impact Vectoring ? Will that still go ahead sooner or is it part of G.fast ? |

The regulatory environment comment is, of course, a swipe at Ofcom. BT will e wanting the same concessions they received for their VDSL rollout. |

So is this going to be via FTTDP? If so are they going to be including exchange-only lines? Furthermore what about exchange only lines with an in-building DP? FTTB?
Or are we going to be left in the slow lane with 12Mbps while the neighbours get 500Mbps+ |
