Only one upstream
Sometime ago there was a "scheduled maintenance" outage and when service resumed I only had 1 upstream channel. On posting on the VM forums I was advised that the other channel would eventually appear.
It doesn't cause any problems upload is as fast as ever I am on 152Mb service. I just wonder whether to moan at VM again? Re: Only one upstream
I think the question to put on the VM forum is "Why do I only have one US channel?"
It's unusual and if everyone else on your node has the same, congestion is likely. |
Re: Only one upstream
The following messages were sent and received on the VM 152Mb board on 4 Dec 2014 and replied on 10 Dec 2014.
There was a an outage yesterday between 10.00 and 12.00 which on the status message it appeared to be some sort of scheduled maintenance. After the service came back I noticed that I only had one upstream channel instead of the two I had before. It doesn't seem to have made any difference to the upload and download speeds. Signal levels are well within spec. Reply I've checked this out for you, it appears to be a result of the recent maintenance, it won't affect the speed or performance, I anticipate you will see 2 upstreams again soon. If any problems develop, let me know and I'll check it out for you :smileyhappy: I will give them another prompt :D |
Re: Only one upstream
That answer's fair enough.

Re: Only one upstream
I remember someone else having the same problem and the second upstream was added back a few days later

Re: Only one upstream
More likely a config issue, they probably haven't copy and pasted the correct config...again:dozey:

Re: Only one upstream
Reply from VM forum received today
"Thanks for the bump, I've just rechecked your cable and there's no upstream bonding group configured on it as of yet. As Kev has mentioned this shouldn't impact upstream speeds at all." So I guess we leave it at the moment as its not causing any problems. |
