Video streamer

Hi all,

Random one here but hoping someone can point me in the direction.

I have a video stream that I want to access via my TV which are all networked and can pick up videos/pictures etc from the NAS I have on the network.

Is there such thing where I can plug something in i.e. DVD player for example and it runs some kind of media server that I can point my smart TV to?

Where is the stream coming from? Why can't you point your TV to that directly? What TV is it and what are its capabilities?

My Sony smart TV can stream video from networked devices such as NAS and PCs and from the net. There's a network connection wizard to set it up and then it uses the built in media player.

Have a look at the relevent attached pages from my Sony's i-Manual. Yours should have something similar. The second page has something in the notes at the bottom of the page about server compliance.
