Cab with Bent Roof.

The large VM cab supplying our area (I think it's probably the one with all the fibre terminating kit in) has a bent roof at one end, so either someones tried to prise it off or it's been damaged in the high winds :erm:

Looking in the Cap it looks like there is still a solid flat panel underneath so i Don't think water can get into the cab (Even if there wasn't it would require the rain to be going almost sideways) Either way Is it worth trying to report to VM and are they likely to care enough to do something about it?

Reported so many open cabs in my time there and nothing was ever done about it. They'd rather wait until there was a fault.

My local cabinet was hit by a vehicle many months ago. It's a total wreck, covered in tarpaulin (until someone decides to steal the tarpaulin). We're going to lose telephone service for a whole day in a weeks time, as they have finally decided to replace it.

Another cabinet has had the lock removed, so the doors won't stay shut. I've reported it several times, but no repair yet.

I guess it must depend on where you live. I've reported cabinets open or damaged and they've been fixed pretty quickly.

Cmon people didn't you know it takes 3 months+ to fix everything.

Heres a fault reference number, please call back in 3 months to see if we have extended it or not :P

Bent is only homophobic to homophobes.

Our local bashed cabinet was replaced on Wednesday, and yesterday our phone service was returned. Three and a half days...

I tried to report the line as dead on Thursday.... but woke to found our internet connection dead too. Our close neighbours also had dead VM phone lines, so a £1.50 call to a VM 0800 number to get it sorted.

Appreciate this is bordering off-topic, but howcome that call cost you £1.50? I'm assuming calling from a mobile, in which case http://www.0800buster.co.uk/ is worth bookmarking.

Calling the number I got a warning that calls to 0800 numbers are chargeable. I couldn't look at the website to find an alternative as the internet was down. It took me ages to find ANY contact number for VM that actually worked despite being in brand new telephone directories and listings.

Once I got through there was a whole chain of "press 1 for... yada yada" that pushed the cost up and up. I think it was actually the most expensive call I have EVER made in the 10 years I have had this phone!

0800 calls from a mobile are normally charged.

It just seems wrong to me that a fault reporting number should be chargeable. Especially on the own network. :(

Did you try to report it on the VM forum?
