Talk talk fibre package - cable TV?
Hi all,
I'm new on this forum and really stuck in what to do. My area has just become fibre optic enabled (open reach vans everywhere) but cannot get Virgin media? Can someone explain why not? I'm currently with talk talk and have upgraded to their 76mbps broadband and really want cable TV as we have poor satelite here. What will the talk talk engineer do when he arrives to enable my fibre optic? Also will be not add a TV cable? (Talk talk tv is not by fibre optic cable but via antenna/freeview To be honest, I'm just really confused in terms of what a Virgin media engineer would do compared to a talk talk engineer |
Re: Talk talk fibre package - cable TV?
The Virgin cable network is privately owned by them and only serves part of the country. Talk Talk, generally speaking, resell BT's fibre product. To get TV from Talk Talk you don't need a separate cable, because the channels you get are a mixture of freeview through your aerial and streaming channels through your internet connection.
If you want their TV offering then you need to subscribe to it on top of your broadband subscription for extra money. You'll then be provided with a set top box, youview, which you'll need to connect to your router AND existing aerial. The engineer will, in terms of what you will see, leave you with a new router. Most of their work will be outside. |
