Trial of 3D Printed smart wristband for TV viewers?

I came across this in the Time magazine today. It involved two Manchester Uni students who have created this TIVO-compatible device that records what you are watching if you fall asleep.

A further link takes you to this trial registration page.

Seems time magazine are a little wrong ....

they are still schoolchildren (according to the link you supplied!)

Clever idea, but not sure if it would catch on ?

Me neither. However my wife often falls asleep watching stuff and wishes the prog was recorded.

The students are young, but the fact that it apparently made it to VM official trials says something.

My wife sometimes falls asleep during playback of our recordings. Is there a similar watch that gives a mild electric shock when you fall asleep?

A sharp elbow or a hand clap will work just as well.

Yes, I have to resort to the subtitles when she snores. You've never heard anything like it.
