Anything in 3D ?

Hi, so I am posting on behalf of my parents who have just got one of the new curved Samsung TV's, UE55HU8500 UHD or something, anyway, he seems to think that there is or was some 3D content on VM - while he has not got the Tv for this feature he would like to try it out.

Hes seems to think there were some documentarys, films etc all included in the package.

I have had a quick look but i cannot see anything is it still there or has it been taken away ?

Thanks for any help!

It is. I don't have a V+ handy and can't remember the exact menu structure, but if you can find the "TV for XL" section (assuming you're on XL), then go to HD & 3D, there is some 3D stuff in there.

Any chance of separating the HD and 3D content in the on demand listings?
The little 3D stuff there is gets lost in amongst the many HD programmes.

I agree that would be a very sensible move, but it's not under my control unfortunately.

It used to have a seperate section, but there was a lot more 3D content then.

There is a small number of films and there are other programmes but they are not grouped so that you can easily identify the 3D programmes.

It's a shame, but the 3D experience has clearly not caught on. Sky also appear to have recognised this by converting their Sky 3D channel to a part time service.

In my opinion. The future for 3D is a holographic service.

It'll still look like you are watching something, rather than being there.

The problem for 3D TV is that 2D TV is fine. I've never watched a programme and thought "I can't tell how far away that is" or "I can't tell if X is closer than Y". It's a non-issue.

IMO 3D TV will only work if they can generate a separate image for each eye in real time, taking into account your head position and where your eye is looking. A few years away yet.
