Christmas tv help
Hello I would like to upgrade my mums tv package for her over the Christmas period, how much does it cost to add sky movies and sports for 1 month and is it best to do this on or before the billing date?
Also is it possible to upgrade to xl TV for 1 month or do you have to agree a minimum contract, Thanks. |
Re: Christmas tv help
Think the Sports & Movies is something like £41 a month, and you can cancel it after a month. Although I think I remember reading last week you need to give 30 days notice to cancel it soon.
Also doing XL for a month should be OK, but someone will know more than me. |
Re: Christmas tv help
Bear in mind that any recordings from the extra channels will not be accessible when you downgrade.

So you can do the xl without new contract, can't you just cancel it as soon as you order it?

Re: Christmas tv help
Have you considered Now TV as an option? It's very very easy to use, significantly cheaper than adding the channels to your existing packages (at least as far as movies is concerned) and you can often get a box with a certain number of passes bundled in.

Re: Christmas tv help
I upgraded my mums package to xl tv with sky movies and sports for a month it cost £70 and some pence extra.... But her premium Sky channels are not in HD, and the guy never said they wouldn't be HD or there would be a charge for them to be in HD and did we want to pay it... **** poor really

Ok it doesn't include bt sports but to add that would only be a extra £6p/m as plusnet offer bt sports for £6p/m. I declined skys offer although as good as it was but i'm happy using netflix and my friends usa services. |
Re: Christmas tv help
Yeah, I was stopped by a SKY rep whilst shopping the other week in town. Tried persuading me to move to SKY from Virgin, going on about Atlantic and how great the channel was.
When I told him that I was happy with Virgin and that I wasn't interested in Atlantic as imo there was nothing worth watching on the channel. He tried selling the fibre optic BB to me as a bonus. I then defeated him by pointing out that just the day before I had been on the SKY website and costed up a move to them. To get the same phone and TV package with a far inferior BB speed would cost me £30 a month more than Virgin. When he then tried to say that on their fibre optic BB I could get speeds of 40MB, I said why would I move from a company offering 152 MB BB to a company offering more than 100 MB slower. That settled it once and for all. Didn't like the fact that I knew what I was paying, what I was paying it for and how much SKY services would be in comparison. Do these mobile reps think that most, if not every, consumer is ignorant to their bills? |

As a staffer it's even more fun when it comes down to prices and they really can't beat what I pay for what I want.
