Cooling an AMD FX8320
 

I have to say i am a big fan of Arctic Cooling fans and i have great results in the past.

I was using a ARTIC Cooling Freezer 7 Pro Rev.2 CPU Cooler which was rated upto 130watt and my CPU is 125watt and my processor was getting a little hot at around 56*c tops.

I decided to change the cooler so i bought a ARTIC Cooling Freezer 13 CPU Cooler which is rated upto 200watt.

The max under load my cpu now hits is 49*c but usually idles around 43*c baring in mind the ambient temperature of my home is quite warm which i need to keep it that way for health reasons. I have read tho that the AMD FX processors do run hot.

I got it from Ebay and it also included a 4g syringe of Arctic Cooling MX-2 incase i need to apply more thermal compound in the future and all for £21 inc shipping.

I have the Arctic i30 which is a beast of a HSF and is rated at 320w.
My idle temps are around 23-25c with a room temp of 20c
And 55-57c under full load on an overclocked 4690k.
I have to say that Arctic probably do make the best air coolers on the market.
Next would be water for me, although that won't be until I upgrade my graphics card and then I'll use water to cool both CPU and got GPU.

56˚c is nowhere near "a little hot". 80˚c is "a little hot", 95˚c+ is "very hot", most stock processors and coolers exceed 60˚c under load.
