sync google chrome FROM iphone to laptop
Hi all
Yesterday i had to format my laptop and do a clean install of windows, everything went well until i installed my google chrome and tried to sign in with my ntlworld.com ID {i know virgin and google have managed to mess this up} but before yesterday its never been a problem. Now all my Chrome bookmarks {hundreds of them} cant be accessed on my laptop  BUT i still have access to them on my iphone Is there ANY way i can copy the bookmarks from my iphone {chrome} and then just copy them into my {forced} new google chrome ID on my laptop? Hope this makes sense If it helps, i have added my NEW {laptop} sign in account to my iphone but am stuck at trying to sync the 2 accounts, probably because they have different email addresses. Any help appreciated |
Re: sync google chrome FROM iphone to laptop
Aren't these synced by your Google account?
Not sure if the VM Mail account counts as a Google account (even though it is rebranded gmail). My chrome bookmarks/history syncs across my desktop/Android phone/iPad using Hugh......@gmail.com. |

Re: sync google chrome FROM iphone to laptop
Unfortunately the only export function seems to be in Chrome on the desktop. There isn't one on Chrome Mobile

Re: sync google chrome FROM iphone to laptop
According to this article, simply signing in to chrome on all devices should sync data. I guess if you have it set to synce of course.
https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/2392075?hl=en Bookmark info is here. https://support.google.com/chrome/an..._topic=3422804 Why have you had to create a new google account on your PC? sign in to the existing account should give you all the bookmarks? |
Re: sync google chrome FROM iphone to laptop
In some circumstances, which shouldn't have happened, Google allowed Virgin Media Mail customers to sign directly into Google services with their details, rather than creating a standalone Google account with their Virgin Media email as the username which was the case for the majority of customers.
When Google migrated Virgin Media Mail over earlier this year to the latest Google Apps platform, this access error was corrected, but unfortunately it then cut off access to the existing data, as is the case for this situation for the desktop machine. Chrome on iOS will be using a local cached copy of the bookmarks, but the syncing back to Google will have stopped working. |
Re: sync google chrome FROM iphone to laptop
Yet another pitfall of ISP mail services... (Although an unexpected and unintended one in this case...)
