Unblocking a toilet....

Someone left a Jason Vorhees in my toilet a few days ago and I finally got it moving by pouring a large jug of water down the pan and flushing at the same time but now it seems to have simply moved along a bit as the toilet is still blocked slightly.

Short of calling a plumber out or getting a plunger down it are there any other methods that can clear a blockage? I've tried bleach, hot water with washer powder, detergent etc but to no avail.

When the turd is still visible, attacking it with a high pressure water jet is always effective ... a super soaker type water pistol is good, if you have one. :D You basically use the jet to slice it in pieces ... :erm:

If it's lurking round the bend, then super-strength drain block bleach is worth a go. A good one has about three times the concentration of bleach in it than your average Domestos.

I was visible for a day or so despite repeated flushes - "Jason Vorhees" as it just wouldn't die - but disappeared from sight yesterday however I think it's still lurking around the bend somewhere. High-strength bleach might be my best option then.

You could try an old wire coat hanger and make it into a u bend shape then put down the toilet and wiggle it. Good luck rather you than me.

On the left is a SINK plunger, on the right is a TOILET plunger

Put the TOILET plunger in position sealing the outlet of the bowl, pull the flush until the bowl is almost full, then pump the plunger vigorously back and forth as the water runs away.

That would shift the Titanic. ;)

Used the old mop + plastic bag method a few times, works a treat :)

If you're brave enough, get a black bag without any holes in it and put it on your arm with an elastic band on your arm, if it is in reach and it doesn't leak it is very easy to remove that way, if using a fast drop bucket of water doesn't clear it.

If the culprit resides there then using their toothbrush would be a reasonable course of action. :)
