Inbound retentions vs Outbound retentions
Hi all,
I just wondered, is it still the case that the outbound retentions team have better deals then the people you speak to on the 'Thinking of leaving us' option? Is it better to go through with cancellation and waiting for 'the call'? |
Re: Inbound retentions vs Outbound retentions
and keeping your fingers crossed that they do "call" ?
IMHO, if you are threatening to leave, you should be prepared to do so, so what will you do if they dont call back ? |

You will find CS very helpful with this, certainly by my experiences. I saved about 40 quid with them when I changed from the VIP pack to the Big Kahunda and got half price Sky premium channels. I was well pleased. |

Re: Inbound retentions vs Outbound retentions
I've found retentions to be very helpful in saving money, as Old Boy says above. I tend to give them a ring once a year and they can usually find savings somewhere (or upgrades for the same money). They don't mind too much if you admit that you're not 'thinking of leaving' ;) They're much easier to deal with than regular customer services.

Re: Inbound retentions vs Outbound retentions
If the market is "maturing" and they are copying the same business model as Sky (where they are chasing customer numbers rather than worrying about margins from those particular customers) then yes inbound offers will be poorer than what outbound will offer.
The people who want to come back will come back. The ones looking for the best offer will come back on cheaper offers. They will mailshot a pretty good offer and they will have some wiggle room on improving those offers. Then the people who never call will then get better offers but only on the outbound calls. "Point of Call" Specials! |

It just galls me that i pay £16 for a phone line and all i get is sales calls that i'm not interested in. My parents were the only people to use the LL number but as i never answered even they phone my mobile now and i ring them straight back. It'd have to be an unprecedented offer to keep me and i can't see that happening. |
Re: Inbound retentions vs Outbound retentions
Hi all,
Thanks for the responses. So in the end I got this 'Big Kahuna' deal from the Outbound retentions team which I'm really pleased with... XL TV 152mb BB Talk Weekends. £43.99pm. 12 month contract. |

The only channels i watch that aren't on Freeview are H2 and Fox. I was looking at a NowTV box to get Fox and the new series of walking dead, i'd also get sky atlantic. I can live without H2. When i'm paying £70 a month plus phone calls it's just got too much. |
