sky hd box wont turn on

just sitting there with red light showing

remote working and box responsive to it

any ideas?

FYI, First thing you should try is software update if it happens again.
Probably the same as Sky+HD so hold the "Back-Up" button whilst powering the box on from the mains until all the lights on the front light-up.
