V+ or VHD
I "quite" recently had to downgrade as i lost a wife and consequently a telly. I have Tivo downstairs and used to have V+ box upstairs. I now have new telly up stairs and want to get HD quality stuff. Virgin actually told me to dispose of my old V+ box but i kept it out of sentiment so can i ring them up and have the old box reinstated as i already have the connection and the box and card or do i need to get a VHD box which seems silly as i got my old box still????? :)

Err, maybe! Give them a call and ask.

Re: V+ or VHD
Sorry, but there isn't an easy "yes or no" answer to your question. If the old equipment is still linked to your account, you may be in luck. But the fact they told you to dispose of it suggests it is a Scientific-Atlanta V+, which they may not want to add back on as they are not installed any more.

Re: V+ or VHD
I gave them a call yesterday and you are spot on the money. Will cost me more to have VHD box than i want to pay at the moment. Thanks :)

Re: V+ or VHD
Have you considered an wireless AV sender from your TiVo box to also send pictures upstairs ? It won't give you HD quality but good enough for a bedroom tv and you have the benefit of not having the wife downstairs wanting a different channel.

Re: V+ or VHD
If you do want HD on the other set, consider a long HDMI cable. If thats not feasable, Wireless HD senders are now getting cheaper:
