Freeview Channels on VM
Hi All - have noticed recently the extra channels available on Freeview - but not streamed by VM - namely: Movie Mix, True Entertainment and Movies for Men. Is there any reason why VM doesn't provide these channels considering that they're "free"?

Perhaps they will not pay for carriage on VirginMedia

If some of the Freeview channels are omitted, it means adding a separate PVR for the odd few channels that aren't on VM. (And, as I recall, someone has said that some people don't like too many boxes under their TV ;):D) But (more importantly) if people have to have a second box, then they may as well dump VM TV services, buy a Freeview PVR and source phone and BB separately. Which is not VM's plan. |
Re: Freeview Channels on VM
But don't most tv's have freeview as standard now. Yes I know some people still need to record the channels that are not on VM.

However, I was wrong to assume that, particularly as a number of people I know have only a DVD player. So I agree, if you prefer to record programmes, or at least would like the ability to do so, a channel on Freeview that is not on VM can be an annoying omission. |
