Super Hub / Connection problems
Hi, have not been able to connect to Internet today.
Have a Super Hub, and the middle light (which has a tick) is not on, which I understand demonstrates a lack of signal. Does this light not being on confirm what the problem is, and what is the solution? Thanks. |
Re: Super Hub / Connection problems
I do believe the tick indicates that the shub has booted up correctly, locked onto the downstream channels and established its connection. Can you connect to the shub and read the logs and see what is going on with everything else? Assuming you are using the shub in router mode you want to go to http://192.168.0.1 and click on router status in the top right and look at the info in each of the tabs. I was going to post some screen shots put photoshop is playing up for some reason.

Re: Super Hub / Connection problems
Thanks for response. Don't seem to be able to access that link, but to confirm the middle light is off, the top light is blinking green, and the bottom light (wifi symbol) is steady green.
Anyway, an engineer is coming out in the week, but wanted to get idea of likely cause. As TV is also affected it may be its a physical problem on the cable connection into our property. |
Re: Super Hub / Connection problems
ah, in that case it might be a network fault which they haven't picked up on yet. Don't be surprised if your connection magically comes back to life (it will get fixed) and nobody comes round. When there is an area fault all tech visits are cancelled on the assumption that the problem has been fixed and they wait for you to ring back up if it isn't. It will probably get fixed tomorrow. If tv is involved as well the fault will be more apparent and everyone tom, dick and harry will be ringing up so they will pick on the fact that it is an area fault more quickly.
If you log into myvirginmedia I think there is an option somewhere to view faults and it will tell you if there is an open ticket for your area. |
