External Hard Drives and USB Pen issues
 

This morning i plugged in an External USB drive, the PC finds it, its listed under drives in device manager and even listed under drives in disk management but its not listed in my computer so i cant access any files.

I have the same problem with 3 External drives 2 Seagate and 1 Samsung and a Lexar USB Pen drive.

I have tried updating the drivers for devices, tried deleting device and letting windows refind it and even tried 4 other USB Ports and all the same happens.

Any ideas how i can sort this?

Im using Windows 7 Pro x64.

Try removing the problem device(s) from your set up.
Reboot the PC.
Add the device(s)

I go into System/Device Manager and delete the USB references. Windows usually finds them straight away after that.

Fixed it, it was Kaspersky Pure blocking access.

I had to disable Kaspersky, set the partitions on the externals as active manually assign a drive letter and now they work fine.
