Disconnected December 2013 rejoining as new customer
I owed a balance on my virgin media account from last year and paid it off today in the hopes of reactivating my account. It seems that I have to rejoin as a new customer instead, which seems fine enough.
The part that bugs me though, is that Virgin are trying to tell me that my equipment in my home is useless now and that I will need to get a whole new installation in order to rejoin. To be clear, I have the original superhub router with all of the wiring still intact (untouched even!) from my previous stint as a customer. Does anyone here have any experience/hints in dealing with this issue? I don't know what the best course of action is. I shouldn't have to pay installation for something I already have. |

...but you don't have any equipment. You are a new customer.

Even the name on the account is the same, and they recognise that I just paid off the old account. I would hope I'd be able to negotiate something here as I 'was' a customer for 5 years before the disconnection. |

The old equipment will have been taken off the system when you disconnected, I'm surprised they didn't come and collect it from you. Just apply as a new customer online, you'll get 6 months half price, all new equipment and if you go through Quidco some cashback as well. Win win win

By 'equipment' are we referring to the original superhub or everything they installed?
I have no problems returning the original superhub and paying the £20 'quick start' install option (basically a courier charge to deliver the new superhub 2.0) |
