TiVo taking over the IP address of my PC.
Recently i've been having a problem where when I turn the pc on I sometimes have no internet connection. After a bit of digging I found that the TiVo was assinging itself the same ip address as the fixed ip I have set my pc to. I have now set the TiVo to a fixed ip address which seems to have fixed the internet fault.
Now since doing this whenever I check the connected devices in the superhub2 it shows my pc and any other devices that are connected at the time with the corect ip addresses however ther TiVo never shows up now when it used to before I set it to a fixed ip. I can still control the TiVo with the TV Anywhere app on my phone and the TiVo works normally. Anyone know why the TiVo isn't showing anymore? Cheers. |
Re: TiVo taking over the IP address of my PC.
If you are assigning stuff fixed IPs that needs to be from a range reserved against allocation by your router. If you don't reserve, there can be a clash. Make sure you also have set the subnet and gateways correctly.
If your router is the superhub, look in it's advanced settings > DHCP > DHCP reservation. |
