TVLink Plus with V+ HD
 

Hi

Wondering if anyone can help me...

I've got TV Link Plus (http://www.tvlink.co.uk/tvlinkplus.htm) hooked up to my Samsung V+ HD box with a magic eye (http://www.tvlink.co.uk/tvlink-silver.htm) to control the V+ box from another room.

The V+ box doesn't have a coax output, so the signal goes through an RF Modulator to the TV in another room.

The TV set-up works fine, I can see all channels on the second TV. The Magic Eye is plugged in and the small LED is lit.

The only problem is I can't control the V+ HD box from the other room. I have both the IR transmitters positioned in front of the V+ box sensors (I think!).

The set-up is:

V+ Box > RF Modulator > TV Link Plus > - - - > Magic Eye > TV
> IR Sensors > V+ Box

Does anyone have any ideas what the problem is?

On the Samsung V+, the IR sensor is the small black circle about an inch below and slightly to the left of the record button.

A digital camera will pick up IR signals and show them visibly on the display, so you could use that to check that the Magic Eye is generating IR when you press the remote in the other room. If it is, try changing the positioning of the IR blasters. If not, I'd suspect a problem with the powering of either the Magic Eye or TVLink.

That's a helpful tip about the digital camera, I tried it and there's no signal coming through. I'll have to speak to TVLink.
