XBox 360 > XBox One

Hi all,

Need some xbox assistance as I have no real knowledge of xbox game systems.

My nephew has a 360 and for Christmas he got a One. Turns out he's been playing the 360 as the One doesn't have his Fifa 14 teams which he's built up on the 360. He has two copies of the game - one for each console platform.

He's signed in on the One using his existing live account as far as I know, but the game information / data isn't being shared by both platforms. I'm not sure if this is the correct terminology but I'm sure you see what I mean.

Also - every time he goes play FIFA 14 or Need for Speed on the One, it appears to want to download the game even though he has the CD / DVD media - it's live it's not installing the game and re-downloads it (updates?) each time.

Any ideas or do we have a duff XB One?

I saw the thread title and assumed it was about slagging off the One ;)

[360 greater than One]

Cross generation save transfer is wholly dependent upon whether the game maker has chosen to implement it, and how.

eg For COD: Ghosts and Battlefield 4, your multiplayer character's stats and level etc. are kept on the Activision (COD) or EA (BF) servers, tied to your Gamertag. Both games allow you to transfer your character from 360 to Xbox One or PS3 to PS4.

I have found this info for FIFA:

As for NFS and FIFA wanting to download each time...Shouldn't do that. Every Xbox One game must be installed to the HDD before it can be played, whether it is a disc-based game or a digital download. But once installed it should not keep reinstalling or redownloading - any further changes should simply be the occasional update.

Thanks Matt D for the info and links - that answers one of the questions.

Do you know of any reasons / any ideas why the FIFA14 game data is not available on the XB One console? He's using the same account / gamer tag / logon as far as I know that he used previously on the 360? Does he need to sync it or something or should it all be seamlessly in the background with no interaction required from the user?

Sorry, I don't know anything about FIFA other than what's in the links.

Different games for different platforms?
The same way gamedata doesn't work with the PS2/PS3/PS4 versions of Fifa14

I don't have the same game on both consoles, but TBH this is a bit pointless.

When I got the new versions of Forza when I ran them it detected the previous save and gave me cars and money, however when I bought Forza 5 on the X1 nothing.

I don't think it would work.

Re: XBox 360 > XBox One

It depends on the game, as mentioned.

COD: Ghosts and BF4 both let you carry your MP character over from last gen. to new gen. as it's on the Activision (COD) / EA (BF4) servers.

FIFA14 does have some form of carryover from old to new, as mentioned in the links.

Bungie has recently said that Destiny (due in September) will allow you to transfer your character from 360/PS3 to X1/PS4.

They changed the way it worked on Forza. You now need to redeem it on the website.
