Fibre Optic Cable Qualifications

Hi Guys,

I'm looking to move into the fibre optic industry but I'm not quite sure where to start off. I currently work in the IT industry but it doesn't seem to be moving anywhere quickly + there not much physical hands on work involved when solving computer problems.

I've found that City and Guilds do some courses such as the 3667 but I'm not sure if this would be of any help in the communications industry itself.

I've completed C&G 2330 Level 2+3 as well as the 17th ed. wiring regs.
I've also more recently completed a degree in IT.

Any pointers would be helpful.

Thanks.

It doesnt matter if you have a degree in IT and electrical, fibre optics is a different ball game, its a specialist area, its the same with data cabling, you invested in qualifications like the C&G 2330 dont you think you need to invest in fibre training?
I have seen so many people learning it off the internet, but how do you know its right, what happens when it all goes wrong?

my advice is invest in some training and get the qualification i know one of the best companies is tnseurope i have heard lots of good things about there training;)
