New Laptop Help
My friend needs a new laptop but I'm not entirely sure which to advise. Budget is £500-600 max. He needs it for remote server management, visual studio, office and personal use including streaming movies etc. he wants a 17" screen. as for other bits/ports, all the works really, best bang for buck fast processor, fair amount of RAM, DVD/CD-RW + Blu-Ray drive, decent graphics. I'm not sure about the OS, I read use www.classicshell.net works well with W8 because of its crap interface but is it worth the hassle or would going for W7 as an OS be better?
He had a HP and seems to like the manufacturer but I'm not that impressed by this as a replacement > http://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Pr...t=ABU&sel=PCNB |

Re: New Laptop Help
None of the uses he describes actually needs any of "fast processor, fair amount of RAM, DVD/CD-RW + Blu-Ray drive, decent graphics.".
If he just wants an overspecced machine to show off with... sure get the highest spec you can within the budget. Else, I'd ask in detail what exactly is actually required. |

remote server management, visual studio, office and personal use including streaming movies
