ZTE Blade III not starting

Got a ZTE Blade III about 8 months ago that has worked well for making calls to other mobiles and using a few apps like BBC Weather. I don't use it on a daily basis so from to time the battery runs low maybe for being on stand-by (have Viber installed). I then just recharge the battery and restart (done this many times). I don't recall if the green android robot showed during the restart. But this does not work anymore. The ZTE Logo just shows, but it does not start the device. The power button does not work. Pressing it has no effect. The ZTE Logo just stays.

I have tried: HOME + VOLUMEUP + POWER keyes with taking out/putting back/leaving in the battery.

After a few seconds the device vibrates and shows a menu at the pop of the screen. The first menuitem is 'normal reboot'. Selecting that seems to activate the boot-up (there is a brief message that disappears almost immediately) but the device still does not start.

I did not click the other menuitems, like 'erase everything', 'new rom' etc because I don't understand what the consequences will be.

I would be most grateful for advice how to continue at this point.

Ken

Re: ZTE Blade III not starting

Contacted Virgin Tech Support on 0845 6000 789 about this about a week ago. Spoke to a (well-spoken) and knowledgeable lady probably at an overseas call centre. After a few questions she decided my mobile had gone bad and said Virgin would send a prepaid, silvery/grey 'phone-ambulance' envelope with instructions how to send it to the Virgin Repair Centre.

Took the envelope to the postoffice Monday this week and on Thursday phone came back with courier, fixed and with a better and updated Android system.

Excellent service.

All I had to do was to re-install BBC Weather, Firefox and a few other apps.
