Can you explain more about how the TVs and the old box were connected, and which model your old box was? Also, which modulator have you bought, and how have you connected it?
ps. Welcome to the forum! |
Re: need help connecting additional tvs
I had an old standard virgin box that had a coaxial socket on the back. From this socket I had a cable that plugged into a splitter box and from the splitter box are three tv aerials one going into the kitchen and two upstairs in bedrooms, everything worked fine (obviously only the same channel could be watched but that is fine). When the tivo box was fitted I realised it didn't have the socket for the coaxial cable so I went to Maplin and was advised to buy a modulator plug the coaxial cable into that and connect a scart lead from the modulator into the tivo box. Done that and I've got the tv in the kitchen working but the tv's in the bedroom are not picking any picture up. ???? It's a universal modulator audio/video code VH89W

So you have the output of the modulator into the original splitter? That sounds like it should work. Have you rescanned (retuned) the bedroom TVs?

Re: need help connecting additional tvs
If an analogue rescan doesn't find anything, it may be due to insufficient signal. I'm guessing the run to the kitchen set is shorter than the others.
The RF outputs from the old V boxes were pretty robust, & when I went from using one to a Samsung V+ that needed a modulator, there was a noticeable difference in performance. An amplified splitter might be the answer. |
