Superhub upgrade

I have been on a mates rates deal since 06/10, currently on 50mb broadband. i have superhub (1??) with blue lights on bottom right of box but wireless coverage in my old house with thick walls is patchy - I put in a few TP Link extenders with limited results - I was trying to contact VM today to see if they would upgrade me to later superhub(if there is one??!!) but kept going thru loads of options to be cut off - very frustrating!!

Is the upgrade worth pressing for and if so what is best contact no - at the risk of sounding like a complete clampet, I have my old BT router/modem if that can be used as an extender??

Re: Superhub upgrade

If you have a wired connection then it is relatively easy to add another wifi router to create a new access point. You need to set a fixed IP for the second router on the same subnet as the Superhub but not in the DHCP range. You will also need to turn off DHCP on the secondary router. It is quite OK to use the same SSID and password as the Superhub so that your devices will connect to whichever is the stronger signal. Also remeber only to connect the secondary router on the LAN sockets (rather than the WAN socket present if the device isn't also a modem).

If on the other hand you were thinking of using the secondary router as a wireless relay then it it would need to be an existing option in the configuration screen.
