Rimax 5.8Ghz and VM PACE DI4000-T box
I have bought the Rimax 5.8Ghz and am struggling with the remote control set up. I can receive a very good quality picture, but the VM remote control isn't working on the Rimax receiver unit at all just now. I have placed the transmitter IR pod next to the IR on the VM PACE DI4000-T box as (I think) instructed, but the signal is clearly not being transmitted.. Any ideas? Thanks

Re: Rimax 5.8Ghz and VM PACE DI4000-T box
The standard Pace 4000 remote control uses an unusual protocol that won't work with most senders. The good news is the Pace 4000 will also accept remote control codes from the modern VM remotes, and if you can source one of these it will work with your sender.
This is the full range of VM remotes. Any of these except types 1, 4 and 6 will work with your sender and box. http://help.virginmedia.com/system/s...MER_TYPE=Cable ps. Welcome to the forum! And congratulations on still having a working Pace box :) |
Re: Rimax 5.8Ghz and VM PACE DI4000-T box
Hi spiderplant, thats really very helpful - I have just rung up VM and ordered a type 10 remote. It should be with us in 2 to 5 working days, so fingers crossed! Thanks again.

Type 10 isn't used any more. Hopefully it'll be an 11 or 12.
By the way, I've just spotted an error in my post above. I should have said "Any except types 1,4 and 5". :dunce: |
Re: Rimax 5.8Ghz and VM PACE DI4000-T box
Hi, I have received my type 10 VM today. But it is still not responding through the Rimax set up, although I can control the volume of the TV in the room where the transmitter is! Weird!
Is there something else in the setup which i should do to get the channel switch, volume, etc to work in the other room? Or might the little IR device for the transmitter which i have attached to the front of the PACE box in front of the PACE box's IR, may itself be broken in some way? |

Quote:
The volume control on the V Box only controls the volume on the TV Scart output, as if it controlled the VCR scart output it would interfere with recordings (which was the socket's intended use). You will need to control the sound on the second set with the TV's controls. |
