Lovefilm and Superhub
Now I have a Lovefilm subscription, but can't stream anything on my Sony Blu-ray or TV as it buffers every 5 minutes (Basically completely looses connection) and then just stops.
Both are wired connection. Is there some sort of issue with Sony equipment and a superhub, or an issue on the virgin network and Lovefilm ? Speedtests during the buffering show good speed, and when connection is re-established speeds are good, but then drops to nothing again. Any help appreciated, as getting nowhere with VM Thanks |
Re: Lovefilm and Superhub
the issue is with the shub, it doesnt like maintaining a continuous connection and having to work. I'll bet you have a shub 1. The best thing you can do is ring up VM and moan your ass off and tell them it keeps crashing and you want a new shub. Because you are on 120mbits they should give you a shub2 for frew which should be a lot more stable. If they start flapping about a £50 charge for one tell them to forget it and buy your own router for the same peice which will be far superior.

Re: Lovefilm and Superhub
I too had Lovefilm issues using my old Sony Bluray for streaming. Both on the old SH1 and SH2 in modem mode, and all wired.
Netflix was never an issue, and I never did get to the bottom of the Lovefilm issue. In the end I ditched Lovefilm :) |
Re: Lovefilm and Superhub
Never though had an issue with lovefilm (Sony blue ray) or Netflix (wii) on old sh1 and now sh2. I do though get buffering problems every now and then with HD content on iPlayer (sony) though that is server and not router issues.

Re: Lovefilm and Superhub
Defo the SH, as I got buffering so put the SH into modem mode and plugged it traight into the blu ray and it worked fine, with no buffering.

Re: Lovefilm and Superhub
Today and engineer came out and swapped the SH1 for an SH2. Was going to swap the SH1 for another SH1,I asked for SH2 and VM wanted to charge me £25, but the engineer phoned his manager and I got the SH2 for free.
