Is my Tivo dying?
Over the last three weeks my Tivo Box (1Tb) has been showing signs of difficulties.
On three occasions there has been a message saying that there was a 'serious problem' and that the system was fixing it. This always worked after about 30 minutes delay. Last night around 8 pm. the system froze. It halted mid-TV programme with the image frozen on screen. The Tivo did not respond to remote or manual commands. I resorted to rebooting via the power cord. This worked. Does this experience indicate an existing / developing problem with my Tivo, or is this behaviour to be expected? |
Re: Is my Tivo dying?
This is not normal. If it's a green screen you see with the message then you need to get an engineer out asap.

I've seen it before, it reinstalls software and attempts a fix

Three is the magic number, if it's crashed that many times get on the phone to VM and get it at least looked at.
