What's the retentions climate like these days?

Got: BB:M (now M20, and looks like I get the 50 upgrade - WOW)
TV:XL
Phone:M
Some odds & sods from the gift offer a while back, don't care if I lose those.
Loyalty bundle.

Now the TV box is SD (Samsung) and had to replace the old TV with one that's only got one SCART.
So would like to get to a least a V HD - to be honest, if paying the 20 quid for it would not break the loyalty bundle, might think about doing that.

While (on the site) a Tivo takes the overall cost to a whisker from Essential Family - with BB:L, though not sure if they still differentiate, as M/L 20 seem to be the same.

To reduce the number of supported speeds?

The cost differential between M and L is very low. I have a My Offers which would allow me to upgrade from M 20Mb to L 30 Mb for 90p per month. Of course, I won't be taking up this offer, given the upcoming upgrade plan.

M is pretty much the same cost as L these days, and part of the reason they are the same was to reduce the number of tiers VM did, and as BB M was withdrawn, those customers were moved to be the same as L

BB S has always been a basic 'last ditch' tier to save someone from disconnecting. It's sole reason for being is to be cheaper, so it's why it's treated differently.
