how do i connect TV to PC?
 

i have no hdmi port on my toshiba laptop.can you please tell me how to connect my pc to the tv using usb port or any other way.thanks

Does your TV have a VGA Connection? Usually labelled PC? Does your laptop have a similar connection?

Do you want to watch TV on your PC or use the TV as a monitor?


If a monitor you will need a 15 pin SVGA port on both, if you don't have a SVGA on the PC, I have seen a USB to SVGA adapter in Maplins.

There's probably a sound input to go with it, probably need a stereo jack to 2x phono for the most common type.

And try 99p/poundland for a VGA to VGA cable, not sure if they always have them though.

ive connected my pc to my tv with vga to vga cable..got pic ok.connected pc sound via 3.5 jack to tv with the red&white phono plugs but NO sound.the jack is in the laptop pc and the phono plugs in the telly but no sound,what have i got wrong?should i have used jack to jack?or can the phono"s be made to work?

You should be connecting the pc to the some speakers and not just the TV. So the PC sends the picture to the tv / and the sound to some external speakers.

pc audio in is usually a 3.5 headphone jack and normally right next to the dsub connection
