windows update has error code 80246008
 

My laptop has thrown up a error code 80246008 which I think has been around awhile judging by the number of failed updates which have accumulated. Using the onboard resolving tool only established(Windows Update must be repaired).
This is originally a Windows 7 machine which I upgraded to 8pro by download but also bought the disc. If I quote this upgrade came with numerous teething issues then I have had a few hours of dentistry. I ask the forum is there a simple resolve or can anybody take me through an uninstall / re-install of my windows 8 using my purchased disc.

is this manual updates or automatic or both

Thanks for that signposting, been there already yet to take the time to read it and not look for the exact worded answer broadens the search. This added to being a bit more daring when under the hood plus making back tracking notes. Combined with a few left click, right click and double clicks with a large intake of breath. Hey Presto Windows Update starts to download 68 with another 18 optional updates.
Lesson learnt keep an eye on whats not happening as well as what is!
