Password problems on a Mybooklive NAS

I have a strange problem with my My Book Live.

I have a password protected folder on my NAS, my Windows XP netbook can access it with out any problems.

But my Windows 8.1 laptop just keeps asking for the username & password, I'm stumped.

Can't help you with a solution, but it all seems to be part of MS enhanced security post XP...........I had problem sharing printer on Windows 7, no problem on XP! I had to read some guide on the net.
