The Biggest night on Tv - The X Factor

www.itv.com/the xfactor

This could be the biggest weekend of the big shocks on tv. With who will win the ratings war between Strictly, or Sam Bailey winning the X Factor.

So far Sam Bailey has got a staggering 43.000 votes and her rates per show has been over 50% with Luke Friend in second place.

I know some members don't watch the show.

But to me it could be a big shock or an easy win.

My money is on Sam Bailey to win.

Each to their own of course - but the biggest night on TV? Really?

As far as l am concerned most Saturday nights on TV are made up of the same predictable rubbish apart from a odd gem.

Well even the 'judges' expect Sam to win. If she don't it'll be even more damaging (is that possible) to the show.

The X-Factor - it's what TiVo is made for......

If X factor vs Strictly is the biggest night in TV, even if you are talking only for 2013, that is a a statement on the woeful state of entertainment in the modern age. Yes these programmes attract large audiences, but is that by default that there is nothing better on? That the X factor audiences have dropped so much since it's launch shows the audience is becoming more discerning and bored with regurgitation of the same stuff. Time for TV to find something new.

Well it turns out its not the biggest night after all! Just a shadoq of its former self.

The first part of the X Factor final drew its lowest audience since its launch year in 2004 on Saturday 14 December.
The ITV talent show managed to pull an average audience of 8.5 million, that includes viewers catching-up on ITV+1.
That's down a million on the final Saturday last year.
Doctor Who's 50th was the biggest TV event of the year AFAIK.

Doctor Who got an impressive 10.2 million viewers.

I'm a Celebrity drew 12 million viewers for it's season 13 opener.

The Wimbledon final is the winner when it peaked at 17.2 million viewers, 79.6% share of the total TV audience during that period.

Of course Wimbledon isn't really a TV event, or is it?

It's a major sporting event but I wouldn't say its a tv event,

Would the cinema viewings added make Who the biggest event of the year? As it got them a Guinness world record.
