The shame of the government.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news...sabled-2711526

The shame of this government is that they are forcing this guy to PROVE he cannot work.

Read this story which is similar to other people in the same boat, this is the sad truth that this government is picking on the wrong people.

The government should be trying to get rid of illegals immigrants in this country that is stretching this whole country to the limits and start listening to medical advice from PROFESSIONAL GP, and NOT some DRs that think they are helping to save the government money by getting the disabled back to work, which they cannot do.

Its totally wrong and DWP should be totally ashamed.

but it’s not about the money, we can take care of him.

so why doesn't he ?

"A decision on whether someone is well enough to work is taken after a thorough assessment and after consideration of all available supporting medical evidence.
We’re still waiting for that in Mr Hazle’s case, but have extended the deadline for him to send us his form because of his condition.”
So he fills the form in and gets the benefits ,what's the problem

Why are ALL your threads about the Government Arthur? Nothing else interest you at all?

Yes its wrong and cases like these keep coming up every month. However for every case like this there are probably dozens more that are done right and catch out those who are ripping the pee out of the system but just aren't reported in the media.

Despite what you may think, illegal imigrants are a priority, and a lot is being done to find, catch and deport them when possible.

This is actually another ATOS DWP case rather than the government. Ok its el gov policy but ATOS have continually been shown to be unfit for purpose

Dunno where the illegal immigrants come from in this though

What happens if he had no parents? It is a possibility is it not that one day he could be left alone in the world. Then it's going to be a whole different case indeed. In fact what if his parents ever decide they can't cope and don't have the resources to continue to care for him? How much will it then cost the taxpayer to take over his care?

The welfare bill would be much higher if it wasn't for the huge number of family members who care for their parents, spouses, children, grandchildren, aunts, uncle s.

It was Arthur that mentioned them.

WHAT HAS IT GOT TO DO WITH ATOS. He hasn't been seen by them.

The DWP were simply asking for info to make that decision. Even if the decision went against them, they would receive the assessment rate of ESA whilst they appealed.

Re: The shame of the government.

When I was going for my assessment I was told to get letters from my consultants and got the same response from all three that I couldn't ask for it the DWP had to request it so something is wrong with the system. That was only last year so doubt massive change has happened and it also wasn't the case the consultants didn't know how things were as the medical secretary's said exactly the same. When I then contacted the DWP they said if it was needed they would request it but never did so if they knew they had to request it why tell me to get it. It's no wonder so many genuine fall foul of this broken system but what the hey money is being saved so price worth paying.

.

But he does, and his father said "it wasn't about money they could take care of him" ,so why is he whinging to the press instead of filling out the relevant forms to get the money he doesn't want or need

Just another Arthur rant where he reads something wrongly and assumes he can rant about the Tories

Isn't that what families are supposed to do?

Why does everything need to be the governments, and therefore the taxpayers, problem?

Eventually there may not be 'family' to take care of their son..especially as parents get older and more infirm. Then the state will be paying out far more than £71.

---------- Post added at 09:52 ---------- Previous post was at 09:47 ----------

Also I'm a taxpayer as well and I've no problem with this poor boy getting financial assistance.

And where does it say he was turned down? They simply wanted more that a simple letter from the GP. The parents were just too stubborn to do that. No decision one way or another had yet been taken

If being at school was serving a purpose other than being a babysitter, doesn't that possibly suggest that he is capable of more than the parents are implying?
