Have I got News for You?

Been a big fan of this show for years

but lately I have thought it has gone off the boil and run out of steam

Is it just me or has it gone over the shark?

It varies season to season and host to host.

HIGNFY has wonderful moments but also some embarrassing ones now...

It is a good programme but it used to be a great one.

You may be right. The latest season has been disappointing so far I feel. But I am feeling the same about most of the Beebs output. :(

I think it just depends on the guests and the host, generally I think it's still excellent with a good host like Alexander Armstrong , but it suffers if

a) they are there for novelty value (Bruce Forsythe springs to mind)
b) there's too much bickering, for example the other week when there seemed to be some animosity between the history guy and the host

maybe after 20 odd years just a bit bored of it.

Never Mind the Buzzcocks again can still be very good with the correct combo of guests and host, works better having guest host than a permanent one whose heart isn't in it.

I find more interesting programmes on BBC3 and BBC4.

Hmmm... Don't know about BBC3 :td:

But BBC4 is a different ballgame entirely. :tu:

IIRC the host I enjoyed most on HIGNFY was William Shatner. The Guy's hilarious IMO :D:D:D
