Xbox Live Disconnecting

Hello,
I am having a lot of trouble lately with my broadband wireless..

It keeps disconnecting every 5-10 minutes or sometimes randomly.. I have reseted my modem so many times it's ridiculous.

Weird thing is my parents use a laptop and it stays connected with 4 bar signal and my Xbox live has 1 bar signal.
I have a 30mb broadband and around 2-3 devices using the wireless.
I recently upgraded to the new hub modem and since then it's all gone down hill and the wireless for my tablet and Xbox live has been disconnecting a lot..

I've never had this problem before with Virgin Media and I've been with you guys for around 7-9 years.
Can anyone help me out, with ideas or suggestions?

I was thinking of upgrading my broadband package, but it may not be there it could be a setting within the modem hub?

Good enough connection ey?http://www.speedtest.net/result/3012727075.png

As has already been suggested the only real way to rule out what is causing the problem is to use an ethernet cable. Or buy your own router.

The Superhub 1 is known to have poor wireless. The Superhub 2 is much better, if you can blag one off VM. threatening to leave due to poor service is an easy enough way to get one FOC. Or as already suggested, use a cable or buy your own router.

This is not an official VM forum dude, it is a privately run forum for VM customers and anyone else to come and have a chit chat and bitch about things :)

As Qas said though, the first and easiest thing you should do is is try running a patch cable from your xbox to the shub to see if it helps. Even if your shub is another room you can buy 10m or 20m cables for a few £££ off amazon so it is no biggy. If the problem persists the only thing you can do it get a new router. Shub1 (what you have got) is all round pants for wireless and routing and the fault you are experiencing is very common. You might be able to blag a shub2 out of retentions which is better (and might solve your problem_ but it is by no means as good as a 3rd party router you would buy off the internet or from somewhere like PC World.

If rententions stick to their guns and insist you pay £50 for a shub2 (it is only available to 120mbit and 60mbit tiers atm) you would be a million times better off buying this from amazon instead. It is a proper router which you won't have a single problem with guaranteed:

Yeah the problem with wireless is there's millions of possible causes and narrowing it down can be a nightmare. Before dealing with that kettle of fish, rule it out as an issue all together by cabling up your Xbox. A pain, but worth it.
