wireless wep problem
Help Please
I have virgin media wireless broadband in my home, I have never had a problem connecting to it till now. my computer, laptops, ipad, mobile phone etc all connected with no problem what so ever simply click on the wi-fi point enter the passcode and bingo instant internet access. so can anyone tell me why this doesn't work on my Kids Nintendo ds's? we know it is not the ds because neither of them will connect. I go into the wi-fi setup, find our wi-fi from the list and it asks me to enter the WEP key. am I wrong to assume this is the passcode on the side wireless router, the passcode which I use to connect every other internet devices to my internet? Please if anyone can help me with this I would really appreciate it, it will stop my kids giving me a headache lol. :knock: |
re: wireless wep problem
you need the key to connect not the passphrase. the passphrase would have already created a key within your router settings.
which router you have ? or which VM Hub ? |
re: wireless wep problem
The Superhub does not use WEP. Your Nintendo DS is not compatible with the wireless security on the Superhub as is.
You will have to downgrade or turn off wireless security on your Superhub to get it to connect. http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/wfc/en_na/wep-wpa.jsp http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/wfc...s-security.jsp |

would enabling a guest network be better than opening up primary ?

Yes. Much.

Re: wireless wep problem
The DS and DS games on a DSi, are strictly WEP - and we know how broken WEP security is, with a fundamental flaw that allows the password to be assimilated from data captured.
The DSi supports WPA but not WPA2 |
