car insurance question

Hi

My son was involved in a car crash not his fault as other driver pulled out at roundabout on him. Insurance agrees was other persons fault but now he's being sued by other driver for injury!!
Where does he stand on this? He's let his insurance know but worried as you can understand.
Any help would be great.

Re: car insurance question

His Legal Cover (if he has it) on his insurance should take care of this.

If the other driver is at fault, not sure how he can claim against your son (sounds as if he is trying it on).

Refer all paperwork you get sent straight to your insurance company/broker, this is the advice I was given in a similar case!

Re: car insurance question

I had a minor bump last December, literally touched the 3rd party's car, no damage to either vehicle, no injuries, exchanged details but we both agreed there was probably nothing to claim about. In MARCH I received a letter from my insurance company asking me to fill out a claim form for the accident as the cow had made a claim (what for I still don't know) anyway, I found out last week that the insurance claim had been thrown out without payment or affect on my policy (yay!) I'm half expecting a solicitor's letter through the door now though.

My advice to anyone is to get plenty of pictures/video (as/when it's safe to do so) of any incident they're involved in. Anyone contemplating 'trying it on' after the event might then think twice about doing so.

Yeah I had plenty of photos on my phone of my bump, they went straight to the insurance company as soon as the claim came in.

We're going to have to install dashcams in all our cars at this rate. People have become so immoral about these kinds of things, they see no problem at all with trying it on in accidents. I blame those ambulance chasing no-win no-fee companies and their adverts normalising the culture of suing everyone for everything (and also the Conservatives. Just cos).

And specifically Maggie, as it is a universal law that all negative consequences can ultimately be traced back to her.

Clearly they've seen far too many Russian and Chinese dash cams.

I've got one of these bad boys, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-7-LCD-Du...item51aa84384c

They do the job, I purchased it when I was nearly the victim of a crash for cash.

Looks like dash cams are the way to go with the ambulance chasers loose in the UK.

The second i hit London or any other town center driving i turn on the video on my Nexus 4 .Good quality HD video and sitting in the cradle it captures all the road in front of me ,makes me drive the truck with extra caution as well ,after all i don't want my camera to prove i am at fault ;)

Incidentally some new trucks have front and rear cameras built in now as an optional extra .

I've got into the habit of attaching my gopro hero 3 hd sports cam to my windscreen and recording all my journeys, i just delete the card at the end of the day, that way if there ever is an accident, even if it doesn't involve me, i had video evidence.
