first time buyer - halifax good option? 3.59 percent fixed 2years / 15 percent depos
 
looking to buy a home and need some advice... i have about a 15 percent deposit and halifax offered me the above. i know i can shop around but alot require a bigger deposit

and with the help to buy scheme they are primarily on new builds, so thats out of the option.
any advise/tips for a first time buyers

With only 15% deposit I think you are lucky to have an offer, by all means shop around but I doubt you'll get anything better

A mate got 3.16 fixed for 5 years and up to 10% overpay without penalties with a 20% deposit from Barclays.
