10 digit code on sky sports

There is a 10 digit code on Sky Sports in the bottom left corner of the screen when the football is on, why have it there so you can't see the stats that appear at the bottom left of the screen, why not have it above the Sky Sports logo at the top right? So frustrating, its bad enough having it show on the screen anyway!! :(

Assumedly it's been stipulated that it must go in a different place to Sky's. Either that or it's to do with Virgin's STB software.

The only way to get round it if you have a V+ or TiVO is to set the match to record & then start playing back a minute later on.

his is a Sky Sports thing. Its apparently to track and trace anyone trying to stream the channel via an online streaming site.

It annoyingly messes with my OCD. Having nothing on the bottom right is doing my head in

What makes me laugh is they do it only for football, don't do it for any other live sport they show.

On Sky if you go back/forward to another channel and then return to the original channel the 10 digit code disappears.Hope this helps:)

Sorry to contradict you but the numbers showed on the golf this afternoon.SSP2
This is the first time I have seen it on another sport.

Ah, didn't have the golf on this afternoon, in which case I would have seen it. Nice to see it does happen on other sports.

It's also been seen recently on the cricket coverage. It also appears on BT Sports during Premiership Matches.

They do show it on the Super League games as it was shown last night on the Huddersfield v Wakefield game.

Yes, the solution is quite simple. Don't think you have to wait a whole minute, though, do you? Just a few seconds so you are watching the recording and not the live broadcast.

I know sports fans like to see things live, and I would be surprised if a few seconds delay would be a problem for anyone. You will find that TVs are not as synchronised as you would think, and a goal watched in your living room will not necessarily be seen in your bedroom until shortly afterwards, or vice versa.

The numbers do not appear on recorded material even if this recording is viewed fast forwarded to real time (or as close as the cable broadcast is).
Those without recording boxes will have to learn to live with it, life's cruel but I'm sure there's more hardship elsewhere it world.
