How much do Virgin Media spend on equipment maintenance?

Just wondered?

Do Virgin's annual/quarterly figures break down this cost?

It would be interesting to see how much potentially this could cost, if for instance Sky were to change their business model to cover this. They would also need to include figures for equipment recovery costs too (after people leave).

Would they then pay more to suppliers for more reliable equipment with 2-5 year manufacturer warranties?

It won't happen but it would be interesting to know, theoretically.

[I've posted in TV thread as I would presume (perhaps mistakenly) that this is the most commonly replaced equipment]

I think the answer is no, but have a dig about in http://investors.virginmedia.com/pho...ancial-results (or the SEC Filings if you are really keen)

That's really a separate question. Do you pay more for a longer warranty, or take the risk yourself? Basically the same dilemma as when Comet try to sell you an extended warranty.
