VM e-mail and Google "privacy"
Google has re-stated that gmail users have no privacy. Since VM use Google for their e-mail services, does the same policy apply?

Re: VM e-mail and Google "privacy"
Perhaps a slight exaggeration and googling some correspondence on the subject does come up with some strange excuses such as if you write a letter to someone then their secretary may/will open the letter and read the contents. I do remember that one to write private and confidential to stop this (whether it worked I don't know). I assume that the same may apply to VMs usage of gmail although that will depend on the agreement between VM and Google.
With ordinary gmail one should remember you don't pay anything for it. |

Re: VM e-mail and Google "privacy"
Never mind, Can get a 500GB dedicated server for £2,99 a month from OVH - so can get e-mail website cloud storage and whatever else you can fit onto 500GB and no privacy crap and no snooping!
I'm ditching gmail and anything google related - even my Nexus 4. Apparently 4.3 allows them to activate the GPS and track you without your knowing (and even when it's off) apart from when my phone is stolen I never want it tracked by anyone but me! |

Thanks to all for your responses.
I will have a look at OVH |
Re: VM e-mail and Google "privacy"
They are currently out of stock as they are trying to forfill a 15,000 backlog which they took in 10 days after lowering the prices. but once that's sorted they have a new data centre they are putting them in. Great value and cheaper than any decent host's lowest package (500MB space and 5GB BW for £2,99 a month)
