What wire do I connect to which on current coloured wire to an extension socket. Have tried to upload a picture hope it worked Regards Andy |
Re: Extension Socket Help Required
Is this where the BT line comes into the property? If so, I believe you'd need to get BT to install a master socket, from which you could then wire your extension.

Re: Extension Socket Help Required
Extensions normally use three wires, one for the voice, one for the bell and one common. The bell signal is separated from the incoming two wire cable at a master socket, hence my question. To do what you want, you'd need to use a master socket - search Amazon, for example.
Edit: Have a look here: http://www.wppltd.demon.co.uk/WPP/Wi...telephone.html |
Re: Extension Socket Help Required
I would think that Andy needs to identify the incoming pair to the property first!
The photo could just show the original way of extending the phone wire within the property. |
