Free to air football on Virgin Media
 

Love football but can't afford premium sports channels like SKY Sports? Not to worry. Each month there is wealth of live free to air football available on even the most basic of Virgin Media TV packages. On a weekly basis I'll update this thread with the latest news on free to air televised fixtures.

I found out recently I can get Sky Sports 1 - 4 free, allbeit on my phone via an orange swapable. But hey, it's something :D

shame Celtic game v Elfsborg is on BBC 2 Scotland- thats not available on VM in my area.

never mind though - i have freesat in another room- i can get BBC2 Scotland on that tv- lovely.

Cheers bud.

Media Boy does a great thread for games shown on Virgin. Thought I'd start one focused only on games available via Freeview channels.

Once the Champions League, Europa League and FA Cup start, I'd expect to see anywhere from 10 to 14 live games on free to air TV per month. That works out as roughly 3 games per week. Who needs SKY and BT Sports? :D

Dagnabbit! Just realised that I've missed the Liverpool U21s v Southampton U21s on LFCTV. Next game scheduled is for next Monday evening, but the EPG doesn't say who it's against. When the season gets going they usually feature live U21s, U19s, Reserves and FA Youth Cup games.

Another one for the list for August - EPG lists as "to be announced", but the League website confirms it as being on S4C as part of Sgorio...

15 live games so far in total for the month of August. That's a game every second day! Not bad for free. Although only 3 games listed for September so far, we should start to see Champions League and Europa league fixtures being added.
