Moving V+
We have a Samsung V+ which I want to move.
I've got a cunning plan to put the box in the loft, with an HDMI cable to the room below and and IR sender. My questions are:
Any suggestions greatly received. Cheers Grim |
Re: Moving V+
The ambient temperature spec is 0 to 40.
Any IR sender should work apart from the really expensive ones that are designed for esoteric IR protocols. http://www.letsautomate.com will have plenty of choices (other suppliers are available). |
Re: Moving V+
Thanks for the reply SP, what's the potential issues if the temp goes above 40?

Re: Moving V+
It will shut itself down if it truly overheats, but short of that there's a risk of shortened hard drive life, and maybe box crashes. Due to the way the fan controller works, it will help if you avoid putting it into standby.
Also consider how cold it gets in winter. Certainly don't power it off, so it stays at working temperature. |
Re: Moving V+
Thanks SP, will give it a go and see what happens
