STB swopage?

We have a V+ box downstairs and a Tivo box upstairs. If I swopped the boxes round would this work or would there be issues.

Thanks.

It should be OK. Just make sure you do the connections up properly. Only time you could have an problem is if the signal to a box is of marginal tolerance.

OK thanks I will try it. The only difference is in the cable length from the wall socket to the STB, the one upstairs is about 4 times longer

OK I have connected the Tivo box up and it is going through the connecting process as I am writing this.
it is currently on the last step of the process but this is taking some time, currently at 23% and it has taken about 40 minutes to reach that figure, is that normal?

The Tivo box has been unplugged though for a couple of weeks if this makes a difference.

I will now wait for this final step to complete and report back.

I let it complete the final step and it is working so I am well pleased.

Yes, it makes a difference, and is normal. After being off for two weeks it has more to download to get up to date.
