No Dolby on BBC1 HD
 

I too had the issue of not being able to turn audio descr off but that resolved itself. However, since then channel 108 only ever broadcasts in PCM.

Damn annoying watching Wimbledon in near mono yet I can turn over and watch Flog It in Stereo.

Anyone else seeing this?

Yes, until the Audio Description issue is fully resolved dolby has been turned off

Are the qualities of sound and vision different on Tivo than V+ ?

Must be, I've got DD 5.1 through my V+ this afternoon. Also in Cardiff mind, in case it's a headend thing.

what channels? I find BBC absolutely awful for sound. But sky sports is pretty good.

BBC1 HD was broadcasting the Dolby Digital yesterday so it seems to be back to normal at least in Abingdon.

BBC1 HD for the tennis as discussed. And BBC 2 HD for that matter. Both DD 5.1 this afternoon.

Our Dolby Digital / DTS 5.1 system displays BBC1 HD as AC3/2 0 which is 2 channel as do some other HD channels and many display AC3/2 1 which is 5.1 so no issues here with this.

Our Tivo is connected to the surround system with the SPDIF optical connection as the surround system has no HDMI port as it is quite old now.

Our BBC HD has always been in Dolby Digital 2 channel and never in 5.1. Must admit though that I have not checked for a while as we don't have the surround system on all the time, mainly for movies to be honest.
